I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, not yet anyways!
It has been months since I last updated, so I will give you the short version of what has been happening with us since May.
Started off with lots of birthdays in May. Amy, Monica, Joeye. Then in June, JJ, Josh, Mom & Dad Tawse-Smith.
Then it was graduation time and proms, Junior High for Kelsey and High School for Andrea. Also had a nice visit with Mom Tawse-Smith that was here for Andrea's graduation.
Next was July and a visit to Calgary for Heather and Jeffs wedding. It was nice to see Joe, Berta, and the rest of the family. Les, Aaron, Joey and Alex were the super best hosts anyone could ever ask for. Thank you so very much for your hospitality. Les also introduced me to Stampin Up. I am having a wonderful time playing around with it right now.
Thank you Les, I will have another order for you soon.
In August we celebrated Mike's 30th birthday. We were also thrilled to have Emilee with us for a week. Also had Henry, April the children visit for a week. I absolutely love having them visit.
And I cannot forget my beautiful mommy. She was here for a week visiting. Derek and I took her to the valley for the day. We stopped and veggie markets along the way, picking up fresh veggies. Mom and I then made chow, mustard pickles and pickled beets.
Mom, you can come and visit any time. We love having you.
Kels, Cait and Joeye had a great summer of soccer. I went to as many games as possible.
Josh is learning so much and definitely keeps me busy.
Retirement is wonderful. I enjoy spending the time with the children. I was able to take the kids to the beach a few times this summer.
In August. Derek and I also went to an outdoor concert in Weir Field. It was called Weir Rocking. The featured bands were Haywire and Chilliwack. There was also a couple of local bands that played. It was a great concert. The weather cooperated for the outdoor concert. It was funny to attend a concert were 99% of the people attending were couples were in their 40's and 50's.
I went to Miramichi for the July 1st weekend to visit with family and to see Mitch run in a Marathon race.
We had a small birthday get together at Monica's for mom's birthday September 4th. Derek and I also went to Fredericton to the family corn boil in September. Andrea and her boyfriend, Tyler, also came with us. It was nice to get together with all the family once again.
I attempted to plant a small veggie garden this year. Joeye helped me with it. It didn't do so great. I think it was because of all the rain we got. We did manage to get a few tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and potatoes. So, I guess it wasn't that bad. My flower beds did great this year. Joeye and Caitlynn planted my bulbs and flower bed for me. They did a super job. I have sunflowers that are well over 8 ft tall under the bedroom window. I will have to take a picture.
I do have all kinds of pictures that I should post. I will try and get them uploaded tomorrow.
I know there is much more that happened this summer, but my mind is drawing a blank right now.
Hope you all had as wonderful a summer as I had.
Have a great week....
