Out of retirement for the week
Well, I am back at work, covering for Monica, as her father and his youngest sons, Wesley and Bradley are visiting from South Africa.
Monica decided to take some vacation time to spend with them, but, as most of you probably know by now, the start of it wasn't much of a vacation.
Nanny Sobey, her fathers grandmother passed away. She was 91.
It was a fast whirlwind trip to Miramichi for the wake and funeral. As sad as the situation was, it gave Monica and Mike a chance to spend a little time with Nanny Marsh (their grandmother), with their aunts, Jeannie, Barbara and Myra, and to visit with Uncle Paul, Auntie Cheryl and to see Nanny MacAulay before he heads back to Ontario.
Kelsey and I also went to Miramichi with Monica and Mike.
Then yesterday Monica received a call from John and Susan (her bosses at Marathon, Monica is like a daughter to them) that John's mother passes away. She was 92. Monica would often be called upon to take the grandmother to appointments when John and Susan were preoccupied with other stuff.
On an up note, Monica is enjoying the rest of her vacation days at home with the girls and Josh, and I believe JJ may even be on vacation for a day or two. So lets hope they get to spend quality time together without any other interruptions.
I have new ceramic flooring in the dining room and kitchen. It was time for new flooring and since my stepdaughter Andrea's boyfriend knows how to do this, all we had to do was buy the supplies. I will have to post pictures later.
Derek just celebrated his big 50. We went out to supper with Jennifer, Andrea and her boyfriend Tyler. We will be celebrating with Mike, Monica, JJ and the children next week. Once her dad has returned home and things settle down a bit.
I think I will post this now and finish Monica's filing for her as I am suppose to be working.
I bought Derek a new digital camera for his birthday, so I will have to play with it and post the pics.
Until then, Hope everyone has a great week.
