Ghosties and goblins are over for another year.
Halloween is now over for another year, so I guess I will put the decorations away this weekend.
We had a few more children than last year. There seems to be an increase each year, perhaps it is because the subdivision is growing in leaps and bounds. I had enough treats for 600 children and I probably had about 20 or 30 left at the end of the evening.
The young children began just before 5 pm and the last of the teens arrived just after 9 pm. There was a lot of spiderman costumes for the little guys and little mermaid or princesses for the little girls,. I also found that there was a lot of dinosaur costumes this year.
I was also impresses with the costumes of the teens. Most of those were last minute put together stuff, but some were really creative. One guy had a garbage can over himself and it had "White Trash" written in big bold letters on the can. Another had herself wrapped in a big clear plastic bag and the bag was filled with balloons, really creative and cute. And then one guy had a big box over himself, and the box was made to look like a big screen TV.
Any treats that were left was sent home with Andrea as I didn't want to have those treat bags in my house. Out of sight, out of mind.
I didn't get a chance to see Joeye, Kelsey or Cait in their costumes, so I am hoping that Monica will posts pics soon, and, Alex looks very handsome in their costumes.
I have about half my Christmas shopping completed and wrapped.
Betty and Henry, you will both be getting parcels by the end of November and it will have a fruitcake in the box for you. Paul, you will also get a parcel by the end of November and your will have 2 fruitcakes and a rum cake.
You never know, I may just make the trip to deliver the goods instead of mailing them. It depends on the weather.
I will keep you posted and let you know when the parcels are in the mail or if they will be delivered.
Brenda, there will be a parcel going your way also by the end of November. I won't be sending any fruitcake as you have mom and she has already made some for you.
Two parcels will be going out west, one for Joseph and Alex and one for Jonathan.
Derek and I will also be sending parcels to his family, but I am not sure when he wants to send those.
Busy season is about to begin at work, therefore, I have taken Friday off as a me day. I am going to stay home and relax and spend the entire day on me. I was thinking that I might even kidnap Joeye for the afternoon. I always have lots of fun when I have Joeye.
Better get back to work if I want to have everything completed by tomorrow afternoon.
